Everly at 9 months

Weight: 17 lbs. 13.5 oz. (37%)
Length: 28.5 in. (74%)
Clothing: 6-12 months mostly, but I can still squeeze you into some 3-6 months
Shoe Size: 2
Eyes: Blue like her daddy
Hair: Just fuzz so far, but I do try to brush it dry after your bath.

Sleeping: You take two naps when possible for about 1-2 hours each. You sleep through the night from about 7:30pm to 7am. Lately your afternoon naps have been horrible, hoping you'll outgrow that.

Eating: You nurse 4 times a day at about 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm usually. You are eating tons of solids (mostly pureed) but definitely prefer your fruits over veggies. We are currently working on table food, but you still prefer mom or dad to feed you, which is way less messy too!

Development: You are starting to crawl, mostly backwards so far, and have mastered turning in circles on the hardwood floors. You love to wave and clap, and always have a huge smile as you do. You are a pistol! When Noah takes a toy from you, we try to lay you down for a nap, change your diaper, or anytime you don't like what's going on you make it very clear with a loud shrill and usually throwing yourself backwards while arching your back. You also have started playing a game with your pacifier as I try to rock you to sleep at night. You put the pacifier in my mouth, take it out and giggle, and then do it again. My heart almost bursts every time.

Like/Dislikes: You love paper. Crunching it, tearing it, eating it whenever you get the chance. You still prefer to be held than to play by yourself, but are starting to entertain yourself more. You dislike peas, and spit them usually.

Memorable outings: We celebrated your Great-Grandma Husen's 82nd birthday in Cedar Rapids with family, swimming, and an overnight stay in Iowa City that consisted of very little sleep on your part.

Words: This past month you said "Dada" for the first time. Your father was thrilled, as if you were saying you preferred him to me. Why is this always a contest?! Just kidding, but I have definitely been practicing "Mama" with you A LOT!

Nicknames: Sissy.

Looking forward to: Watching you begin to explore more on your own.
